IRMA blew Triple Jack off her mooring, across to the south-east bulkhead of the new marina and then back again to the bridge where she was deposited upside-down.

That was nearly 2 years ago.

Whilst upside-down we glued the broken sponson back in place and carried out some main hull repairs.

Now it’s time to get to grips with the decks repairs. There’s also the small matter of re-attaching the starboard sponson.

Thanks to the continued support of Nanny Cay who have been looking after Triple Jack for 20 years we are able to do this.

Some will say the boat should have been crushed as it was game over. It’s now time to prove them wrong....

A good day yesterday as we saw Triple Jack (the BVI's most loved trimaran) righted, moved, and ready for stage II of her post-Irma recovery.... an easy job with two cranes and a few people pulling ropes...

We're very pleased to welcome Rowan Wheatley (left in first picture) and Stefan Archer (right) back for the Summer! They're both studying Marine Technology at New England Institute Of Technology, and working here on Cooper Island's September Morn.

Cooper Island's September Morn was in Paraquita Bay for Irma. She faired better than some, but still needed quite a lot of TLC in preparation for the opening on April 1st.

Jamel Davies aka’ Fiyah’, a third generation BVI boat builder with a family steeped in the tradition of building Tortola Sloops, and our resident composite expert, did the repairs.

Paul and Alex helped too, with Paul rewiring and bringing the boat up to code.

This beautiful Swan 53, Wild Daisy, was holed in the boatyard. We made her seaworthy with some temporary (but major) repairs to the hull so that she could be splashed and sail on her own bottom to Puerto Rico where she will be fully repaired to her former glory.

Richard Wooldridge from Island Yacht Management saved my yacht Shaima, a brand new Hylas 63 from Hurricane Irma while in Nanny Cay!

I arrived in BVI on my inaugural trip from Florida on July 13th 2017, three days later I was hit by lightning while at anchor. This forced me to stay for extensive electronic repairs in BVI instead of sailing south to Grenada as planned. I hired Island Yacht Management to manage my boat while away from BVI.

As hurricane Irma approached Richard did all the timely moves to haul out and protect my boat as the hurricane approached. He even took my dinghy out of the water and with his trailer put it in a highly protected place.

Both survived with minimum damage! Thanks Richard and Island Yacht Management!

My dream boat survived and I will continue sailing around the World and making my dreams come true!
